3 DAYS, 3 EVENTS

DAY 1 - 58th COC Passing Out Parade

friday was the day that CDT keith and CDT jason finally dropped their white spagetti stripe for a full milk bar.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM BOTH.
:)

initially wanted to go down to hq in civilian capacity, but hq was in need manpower, so i had to give sol face (duh. the jc cadet officers' reputation not very good alrdy, MUST. BRING. IT. UP.)
volunteered. as a carpark uncle.
LOL.

it was kinda fun. i saluted to senior officers in their fancy cars, directed all sorts of vehicles, mercedes to chery, into their car lots...
"YOU. PARK HERE, NOT THERE. later i wheelclamp you then you know!"
OKAY. abit stupid.

PICTURES!

proud dad takes down the trainee rank, and replaces it with the new C/OFFR insignia

bumped into fellow saint jian pheng there

NOT FAIR - i'm same rank as them!

pictures shot using my 10.1mp camera, and uploading all of em will kill me, so PLEASE. feel free, proceed to fb for the rest. :D

spammed the buffet, particularly the LAKSA BOOTH.
WOOO. it was shoik. got 2 bowls! yum yum.
the pineapple rice was kinda cold though.
BUT NEVER MIND. cause sam loves free food.
HAHAHA. shit, so typical west district. xD

hung out with the new east district spec, 3SG jun yuan!
just 2 years my senior - haha, NS, its THAT close.
[<->]

after that, went on to con't facilitation of outgoing traffic
following which, i packed my bag and tompang-ed keith's lexus to yew tee for SUPPER @ JK PRATA!

thanks, to keith dad for the treat. :)

ONCE AGAIN, congrats to BPNCC's 2 new cadet officers!
WOOO. more kakis for camps!

DAY 2 - The Poorly Paid Part Timers' Strike

met up with the sitex gang on saturday for dinner at marche vivo
zhanyee was... complaining.
cause he spam'ed $$ on his prom stuff, and abit lack of reserves. LOL.
but whatever he ordered, it came with this BLINKING VIBRATOR!
yeah, when it vibrated and flickered, meant the food was ready for collection - SUPER COOL RIGHT!

we went to henderson wave for an evening stroll after that...
okay, more of trying to satisfy regina's crave to go there.
HAHAHA - but its quite an awesome place to be
THE WIND SUPER POWERFUL.
i seriously don't mind spending the night on that bridge, its so curvy, cooling, and relaxing...
but a bit awkward, cause there were LOADS of couples there. O.O

we talked, ran the curve, and took LOTS of pictures
and i had a chance to take one picture with a random friend of regina's
reason being (THIS IS EPIC): reg wanted to pair ME up, but dear BIRU didn't turn up, so... ended up with this random friend of hers.
BUT NOT BAD LEHHHH.

WOHOO!! SAM SCORED HIMSELF A CHIOBU JUST LIKE THAT. xD

HAHAHAHA.
i srsly cannot believe this happened.
LOOK AT ME: SO HAPPY.
SHIT. i become cheekopeh already. HAHAHAHA.

well introductions: she's tammy, from NY... JC.
almost NYP. ALMOST.
not my joke okay, hers. LOL.

yeah, but she came to henderson wave with another pair of friends, so... we parted.
LOL, I SHY LA, CANNOT TAHAN.
so we siam, and went home after that.
perfect ending right.
urgh.
-.-"

NYJC TAMMY: ONE POINT. SAJC SAMUEL: ZERO.
epic fail at meeting random chio bu. LOL.

DAY 3: Wild Wild Wet with the Kuku Banana Gang

okay, is it obvious why we're called the KUKU BANANA GANG now? :D

FINALLY RIGHT.
but a bit fail
hear this story:

okay, once upon a time.
the kuku banana gang decided to go wild wild wet
so on the way, they went to eat at tampines one F.I.S.H.
because... fish makes people smart.

so yeah, we ate there
and all seemed rather... sane
till they departed and made their way to Wild Wild Wet.

Samuel was saying a lot of bad stuff. like later get there, no locker. or worse, rain. or WORST. scarly final fantasy destination 10.
but alas, none of those happened.
it ain't heng. but more of...
WHAT-THE-HELL, * FILL IN YOUR VULGARITIES HERE*, THE ENTIRE WILD WILD WET WAS CLOSED.
for some stupid family day event.
easterners probably will go," NO BIG DEAL WHAT. come back another day."
but take note, the kuku banana gangstas ain't no easterner - they are from the west!
and to get to wild wild wet, will take them DONKEY YEARS.
in fact, it actually took them 3 years.
-.-"

*okay, feels weird talking in third person, the author decides to tell it from the first person perspective from hereon*

YA. DAMN SIAN RIGHT.
got lots of sian diao pictures of musfirah and jo, but AGAIN, pls refer to fb.
10.1 mp pics are an ass to upload. lol.

anyway, we let loose them vulgarities: chee bongz bongz boomz and all, then settled down.
cleared our minds, and decided to improvise

and improvise WE DID. we ended up at BEDOK RESERVOIR, and we kayaked!
ACTUALLY QUITE FUN LEH.
LOL.

we went round the restricted area, jumped kayaks, attempted to fill one 2 man open top with 4 of us...
YES. we did that!
and it was sinking.
so i hurried back to the other boat.
LOL. EPIC!

most epic of all was our dear benedict - the avid canoeist he was - pushed yours truly overboard. TWICE.

once, he rode up the shore at high speed. then wanted to reverse out, and SOMEHOW.
both of us capped.

sounds fair right.

but he hurried up onto the kayak BY HIMSELF, and wth, he sped off, leaving me SWIMMING LIKE SOME STINGRAY, HUGGING MY PADDLE, trying to catch up with him.
oh well, that's what best friends are for, right.
LOL.

CASE 2.
imagine this:

but shift the back kayak 90 degrees, aimed and poised towards me.
now, IMAGINE. my boat, stagnant. IMAGINE, benedict's boat, hurling towards me, full speed.

get that picture? bet u do.
yeah, obviously i got knocked off the kayak, dumb dumb.
no, i didn't lift the boat, and whack the bananas out of him. though i wished i could.
-.-"

THANKS AH, benedict. 感谢您.

bused back to tampines, where we ate at pasta mania, before heading back to home sweet home via mrt.
haha, we actually "bounced" (new word from jo and mus. LOL) from pasir ris, and there, we took epic pictures too.

ride back, we crapped, poked benedict's muscles (OKAY, MY NOT AS STRONG BECAUSE I SICK. and cannot train. JUST YOU WAIT!), and slept.
almost had my revenge on benedict when we reached jurong. he was sleeping so soundly, i wanted to leave him to bounce at joo koon man.
LOL.

AH YES. that's an epic 3 days for both me. and my wallet.
OH NO. i'm left with just 14 bucks for next week!
*GASP*

now... that calls for another episode of,
SAM'S XTREME BUDGETING - TIME TO SPAM THE ANANAS!

Quote of the Day: "some say, josephine's house has a... MULTI STOREY CARPARK" - LOL.

you can call me Dr Samuel Chia.

after just a day of intense self-medication, yours truly is feeling better.
though still coughing. and wheezing like an old man. and the flu.
but i assure you, its a lot better compared to yesterday

been spamming african sea coconuts and chinese herbs strepsils (supposed to be more POWERFUL!) since the sun rose yesterday, and, well, i've actually.. finished the entire bottle of african sea coconut.

lol. probably because i was too lazy to consume 4 tea/coffee/table/chairspoons of it, i just took out 1 big porcelain spoon, filled it, and drank it.
instructions said 3 - 5 times a day (i think). and i took 5 times yesterday.
so i probably overconsumed?
but hey, end of the day, its whether i'm feeling better, and yes i am, so overconsumption is no problemo.

come tmr, is the 58th passing out parade ceremony, and i'm down for carpark duty at HQ.
again, the white bar is the saikang warrior... wohoo.
BUT, i shall start the day with the end in mind - the FREE BUFFET.
yum yum. carpark uncle don't mind free yum yums.

the extreme weather conditions coupled with my body following the US timezone has finally taken a toll on my health
I HAVE SUCCUMBED TO THE MIGHT OF MOTHER NATURE!
down with flu. and sore throat. and cough.

horrible. just when i've decided to start studying and training.
-.-"

went on down to town by myself with billy's psp in my hands
i've finally completed 1 race in f1 2009, came in 3rd!
TAKE THAT, WEBBER. hahaha.

went about the town area, and guess who i bumped into: MRS THOO!
woo. no.1 teacher back in KPS!
lol. 6A/6B is now spamming her email inbox via fb, and its my fault cause i tagged her in our class picture.
HAHAHA.
xD

i spent what seems like eternity walking around town - UNDERGROUND...
yeah, mother nature wasn't playing nice, so poor sam had to resort to walking through tunnels which he isn't well accustomed with.

eventually ended back at wisma, and gotten a pair of nike plus running shoes from world of sports (LAST PAIR.again!), and the nike plus accelerometer from the nike flagship store to go with it
was researching abt the nike plus thing online yesterday and from what i've gathered, its actually a good tool to go run with, i hope i made a good investment for my training
was contemplating abt one of the "rocket science" shoes from the nike flagship store, but eventually convinced myself - for a pair of running shoes, they are JUST TOO EXPENSIVE.
these are difficult times right now, and once school term starts next year, i wouldn't have time to work, so i've got to be thrifty this holiday!
try la, hor. JIA YOU.

the nike plus sensor!

once i get well, i'm DEFINITELY going for a run.
:D

well, fast forward, i'm now home, just helped billy resurrect some of dad's documents and records.
ITS GONNA BE A VERY VERY LONG AND TEDIOUS TASK.
expected to stretch throughout the holidays.
damn, shouldn't have handed dad's thumbdrive to billy in the first place.
regret to the max.
:/

*drip drip*

don't you just hate flu. especially the dripping type, which i'm having now.
SPAM THEM TISSUES - at the rate i'm going, the entire household supply of tissue paper will be gone before the weekend arrives.

okay, that's all i guess.
i hope i get well soon. you guys should as well.
for the sake of tissue papers and trees. LOL.

i've finally done something to end my onslaught of physical inactivity

went swimming first thing in the morning downstairs with demas
we swam for a good 1 hour (okay, a significant bit was spent lazing in the jacuzzi, but we did swim!)

noon came, showered, and we went off to bukit timah via 67.
not there to climb the hill, but to study...
not at the hill, *siao* but at the shopping centre!

had lunch at buddy hoagies, and we studied there after lunching.
its an excellent place to study, given its location and ulu-ness.
no guilt whenever you decide to plonk your arse on one of the seats for hours.
there are so few customers - absolutely no need to be wary of outlet managers who are bent on forcing you out of their restaurants for new customers to come in.
carefree studying!

we had a good time catching up with one another's life at the same time, and we stayed on till 6pm.
by then, i've completed the * questions for binomal and AP GP holiday assignments.
lol, okay, not alot, but at least i've gotten the ball rolling!
DIE PROCRASTINATION, DIE!

we took 67 back to cck, and went our seperate ways aft that.

reached home and ate dinner with the family.
billy came back with something missing today - dad's thumbdrive!
and dad was fuming mad, because his documents and records that he has kept updated for the past few years is now gone, just like that.
partially, its my fault - billy was asking for a temporary thumbdrive for today, and i actually did hand dad's thumbdrive to him the night before, after my cardreader failed to work.
:/

well, bygones are bygones, hope dad simmers down soon.
billy has got a lot to "bu", so i guess i'm gonna help him out on my part.

holiday's schedule is finally done, lets hope i'll accomplish this holiday's objectives!

back from work and i'm happy happy happy!
i believe i've reached the peak of my ability in banquet waitering!
not trying to full of myself, but srsly, i'm super satisfied.
keith joined the party on saturday, and i was paired with him for that evening.
abit unorganised on our part, but no problem too big!
felt great working with him, brings back memories of us collaborating tgt for various ncc events
:)

tonight, was ALMOST paired up with haiqel, but sala, ended up 1 to 2 tables
nvm. it was flawless. again.
samuel can now consider waitering as a future career cause he is so pro...
CHEYY. hahaha!

haiqel has more or less settled in the environment, so he is now a "Regular" - just like yours truly!
awesomely, i've scored myself a working kaki as a result!
:D

moving on, WEEK 3 OF THE HOLIDAYS IS HERE.
and all of a sudden, it feels weird.
week 1 and 2 has been VROOM VROOM.
now comes week 3, and i'm all HUSH HUSH.
something tells me its time to start studying. and training. yup yup...

ALAMAK. JUST REALISED I'VE YET TO DO UP MY HOLIDAY SCHEDULE!
jia lat. gonna go do it now.
example of procrastination to the max - wednesday's objective, attempted only 4 days later.
=.=
SEE YA, SUCKERS.

5TH NCC DINING IN
with "master chief" hanafi, and 58th trainees keith and jason

the NCC 5th Dining In was held in Leaders' Hall in SISPEC on wednesday
maybe you can count it as "lucky", that i managed to get in, albeit not in the dining No.2 attire
instead, i turned up in the ceremonial No.1 dress, and for a reason!
i was the BOX BOY aka flag stool orderly.
teehee?

okay, plan was to be in the colours party presenting the NCC land colours, but just so happened that was not the case
of all the colours, it had to be land that had 2 applicants
so yours truly underwent an impromptu selection on tues, and of course, the more experienced gold bar beat the milk bar officer hands down.
that helpless feeling was so... URGH.
=.="

sigh. oh well, on the bright side, i was able to attend the dining in, and it was a wonderful experience.
dining together with the 58th and other cadet officers, eating exquisite food...
I HAD A FINE DINE MEAL FOR... *and i quote from wei hao* FWEE.
i reckon if i had to pay for it, the whole dinner would've set me back at least $60.
there was scallop salad, cream soup, steak, and dessert - 4 courses!
tops the yummy for money charts instantly.

what's more, it gives me an insight on how the military dining functions work
LIKE THE TOAST TO THE PRESIDENT - SO COOL.
*3 knocks of the mallet* "MR VICE, A TOAST TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE!"
mr vice would go, "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN - TO THE PRESIDENT!"
and together as fellow soldiers of the republic, we rise, and downed (fake) red wine.
:D

what tops the cool meter of this function ought to be the presence of our guest of honour - Major General Neo, Chief of Army
BIG SHOT OKAY - his car has this 2 stars on the number plate, and his shoulder ampulet is GOLD IN COLOUR.
the highest ranking officer in the SAF!

great experience for me overall, i look forward to attending another military dining in, next time - IN OCS!
CHEYYY. someone has to work doubly hard now to reach his goal!

together with some of my 57th course mates and other west district cadet officers.

lol, i really look outstanding. like as though i sala chose to wear wrong uniform for the dinner.
=.='

CLASS CHALET
i was there for the first and second day, and well, it was TIRING.
yes it was - i feel as though i got anal-ed for a prolonged period of time.
MY ARSE FEELS TORN.
all these due to the night cycling - we went from pasir ris to east coast and back, taking almost 5 hours in total, covering a distance of roughly 42km!
WHAT THE SHIT RIGHT. and the top speed i travelled was 46km/h - on the way back to the chalet on a dual rider bike!
nice to have a phone with built in GPS.
it was FUN FUN FUN. with a pinch of physical drainage. but its okay!
imagine: we went from chalet, to changi village for nasi lemak dinner, to chalet, and to east coast, and back to the chalet once more, all on bikes.
urgh. the thought of it: i can't believe i did it.

en-route from east coast back to pasir ris via the uber long changi coast road

observing the sun rise.

nearing east coast, i srsly keng-ed alrdy, so upon reaching, yours truly spammed CALORIES!
yes, to burn them for the return journey, and it worked!

though when we reached back the chalet, we were all instantly knocked out.
we all were asleep for a good hour!

was the first to leave the chalet for home in the morning, reached home at noon, ate, slept, and went to work.
today, i was joined by jolyn and haiqel, and it was an uber slack day!
i did 1-to-1, and that single table only had 6 diners!
add in the fact that it was a dinner and dance and not the usual chinese wedding, and you get... A SUPER SLACK DAY.
cross my fingers, hope tmr will be the same...
:/

alrighty then, off to bed now!

sitex ended on a sad note.
i felt kinda sad leaving the place.
can you believe it - 5 days have came and gone!
been through thick and thin, and now we're all dispersed.
may our path cross again in future. :)

saturday, which was the day before the final sitex day, WAS RANDOM NCC FRIENDS DAY.
met like 4 fellow ncc mates who were roaming ard sitex, including the famous twin duo!
i went out with some of my fellow co-workers zhenyee, lynette, biru and sun for supper after we knocked off, in the town area
surprisingly, orchard area was still upbeat after midnight
we ate at xin wang, and it was packed!
the service sucked though, (we waited a good 25 min for the food to be served), they were stingy (wtf. 20 cents for a cup of water.) and the food doesn't really taste all that special
but never mind that, we were there for COHESION.
and so we chat, complained abt the service, chat some more, finally ate.
we then came together to write a feedback form like a group essay!
damn funny. haha, but the contents were pretty serious.

it was my first time in town after 12, and it was an interesting sight!
TAXIS FLOODED THE STREETS - i hailed the nightrider, and probably some cabbies who were preying on me thought i was hailing them.
LOL.

SUNDAY WAS CONSUMER HELL.
the whole expo was filled to the brim, and my personal counter was CRAZY. the cooler fans sold like HOTCAKES BABEH!
hadley and me were rushing to serve all the bargain hunters.
if only these were all commission based - i would've became a millionare overnight!
HAHAHA.
when everything ended, we packed up, and went home!
EVERYONE WAS SO HIGH.

wooo. END OF TOUGH LABOUR AND SALES!

we did crazy stuff to commemorate freedom
like...

MOONBATHING - on a public road with INCOMING TRAFFIC.

LOL.
cabbed back, and the total amt was $46.20!
travelling after midnight IS EXPENSIVE - lol, saturday's night rider burned $3.50 from my ezlink card.
I THOUGHT GOT CONCESSION SIA.
=.='
eventually reached home, and slept at close to 2am in the morning!

i took the initiative to have a LOOOONG sleep.
but somewhat the 5 days stint had some adverse health effects on my body - i woke up, eyes itchy, throat sore, and nose full of mucus.
urgh. all these for $5.50 an hour. -.-"

initial plan was to head on dwn to hq ncc in the morning, but decided to slack abt at home and catch up with my TOP GEAR (woo. lancias rock - dad used to own one. :D)
left for hq after lunch, collected my no. 1 ceremony dress for wednesday's event
after collection, roamed around HQ looking for keith who was attending the 58th coc, and billy, who was in camp pinn, but just my luck, both of em were having external activities
oh well dropped off billy's items, and made my way to sim lim square.
went to claim my taxi fare, and i saw the full timers!
was actually offered to con't working there till year end, but after serious consideration, decided not to.
DAMN MAN. again, the feeling of despair - when i left that stall.
its gna be a LOOONG time till we meet again.
kinda grown an emotional attachment to that shop. though the pay sucks.
LOL.

walked about bugis street, and decided to do some personal shopping, and back home for dinner with the family.
watched shooter.
yeap, that movie with the chee ko peh edison chen.
its quite an exciting action movie!
:D

well, december is approaching, i'm gonna have to get my study schedule up and running soon if i'm to survive the first wave of examination for 2010.
i'll do it now...

...okay, maybe tomorrow.

nah, i'll be busy. wednesday.
yes, its gonna be wednesday.

damn procrastination!
